3 in team redundant. 2 have to work notice, 1 doesn't

3 people in team. All made or taking redundancy. 2 have to come into work for their entire notice period. 1 dioesn't but still getting paid.

Is this fair/legal?

    Yes it legal,
    not sure about fair but thats up to the company and the work that is to do.
    (and who's job it was to do that job)
    make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

    Common practice if the one has knowledge or access that could be harmful to the company or could be passed on to rivals. This is commonly know as gardening leave. had it imposed on me quite often when the company didn't want me to have ionfo on contracts I could take with me but wanted to ensure I did not start my new job before the notice period was up.
