Goods still delivered After the order had been cancelled

Just want to check my rights before I have a conversation with this company.
Fri 14th Ordered some champagne to be delivered on (Mon 17th) for my friends 50th Birthday - got an email with date of delivery address etc- job done I forgot about it.
2 Days after the order (sun 16th eve ) I checked my emails The company had Emailed me on Sat 15th they had also been trying to ring me - they couldn't deliver on my friends birthday but could deliver Tuesay or I could have a refund - I immediatley replyed saying that I had wanted it delivering on her birthday so I would have a refund.
I then got in touch with my friends daughter giving her the job of quickly purchasing some champers wrapping it up and giving it to her mum from me (not as exciting as a fancy box and a ballon) but she got it on her birthay!!
Had a phone call from my friend last night Tuesday Yep you have guessed the company had delivered the order ! How do I handle this when I speak to them later.
Thanks

You should've rung and double checked they got the email, it's hard not to assume they recieved an email. Did you check your mobile if it's the number they rung, to see if they had attempted to ring you?

Saying that, ring them and explain the situation. If they say tough luck it's delivered; ask to speak to the manager. Explain it to him; and it should be sorted.
If not the second thing to do is to ring their head office, explain it to them and ask to speak to a manager.
Do read the email back to them; to refresh their memories.
If all else fails tell them you will be posting them a letter from your solicitor.

If you haven't been charged write to them and ask them to collect. If they don't collect you have a six months waiting period and then the champers is yours.

If you have been charged find out the managing director's name and write (registered post) and explain what happened and that they can collect and refund you. If they refuse go through the small claims court.

They have breached their contract with you.

You just need to ask the company to arrange a collection of the order wrongly sent out. Even if you had cancelled or not cancelled, the DSR applies here so you could just sent it straight back for whatever reason.
