hi there,
I posted this in the wrong section previously so now I have found the right forum for this
Basically, I'm just wondering what benefits might be due to me as a home-worker for my employer. Do any of you wise MSE folk know if there are tax gifts or somesuch, or anything that i can claim for please?
thanks

If you are referring to tax perks, you would be best to post on the Cutting Tax board. If you want to know about your benefit entitlement, we need more information, such as age, income, other household members and their income etc.Gone ... or have I?0

You can claim a whopping £3.00 per week as a tax free allowance to 'cover' lol, the additional home costs ie, heating, electricity etc. of working at home. You can apparently claim up to six years retroactive if you haven't claimed before. You need to ring the tax people and ask them to send out the forms.0

dmg24, Anxious Mum, many thanks, i will take a look into it. My employer only offers a chair and a desk and seeing as i'm using my own electricity and gas, i reckon i should get some more perks!0

why you working from home and not in the office?0

LOL - know what you mean - but then, the biggest perk is I get to be very flexible around my kids, and I don't have a commute

Tink - loads of people for varying reasons have to work from home - my 'office' is centrally located, and we have staff scattered over the country, working out of our homes so that we can go and meet our customers face to face.
Fantastic on a cold winters day to stay at home, in front of a wood fire, with your fluffy dressing gown and slippers on.....while talking to people in your business voice
