Hello, I hope someone can help. I had my sash windows painted over the winter months and they are stuck fast with paint and I am unable to open them. How can I free them off ?

Run a stanley knife through the paint. If that doesnt release them try apply a bit of force, (with care please) the lead weights may have become detatched. Other wise call in a joiner to replace sashes
sashmanBuying quality goods which last, should be an investment that saves money. :T
Buying cheap products which fail, wastes money and costs twice as much in the long run. :mad:0 -
Stanley knife or very thin fine blade as above then if still stuck -
Wrap a length of two by two wood or similar in a towel and place lengthways along the frame. VERY gently tap the wood against the frame along where it is still stuck.
Once you have the windows open rub a candle in the channels to make future opening easier.0 -
Squirt silicone furniture polish into the gaps can also help free windows if it's wood rubbing against wood.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
