Gravel garden advice please....
hello again,
I'm mid garden re-doing and i'm ready to either put a gravel down on half the garden or to re-turf it.
If i do go for the gravel option can anyone advise on what thickness i will need to lay the gravel to? It'll have a table and chairs on and fire-pit thing etc...
Also while on the topic of gravel is there any reason why i should be put off using gravel as opposed to either turf or in-fact paving??

Hi Joey. We had our drive done with gravel and half of our back garden. I think the layer of chippings is a couple of inches thick, but I suppose it depends on the size of the gravel. The downfall for us is when we mow the lawn next to the drive, loose chippings blown there by the wind or by the local kids playing with the chippings on our drive can be a nuisance for the lawnmower. One time one chipping hit our front window and cracked the glass. Chippings at the back are fine except we are finding little weeds growing amongst now, plastic must be perishing a bit. Picking up doggie poos is a bit of a pain, as you pick up chippings as well! All in all, for us we are generally pleased with it. Have left some garden for my small veg patch!0
