Hi All.
I know its not an exact science but would appreciate someone with a bit of experience helping me out a bit.
Situation is I am a first time buyer, am buying a now empty house of somone (the owners parents lived there and have now gone to a retirement home). So no chain at either end.
The mortgage has been approved, Surveyors are going in on Monday, Solicitors have been appointed and are waiting for my say so (after survey) to start thir search's.
So was wondering how long lon git takes to firstly get the surveoys report and then how long til I can move as am very excited.
Just hoping that it will be 4-6 weeks as my lease on the flat I live in runs out 6 weeks yesterday!
Many thanks

hi matt you should get your report back around 5 to 10 days, it really is dependant on who done your survey. when we was 1st time buyers 3 years ago we done it in 6 weeks but it was at a push and the people we had brought off had a empty property to move into, its going to be all down to the sellers for you im afraid on how quick they can move outYou're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on0

couple of weeks for searches. If both solicitors are competent, there is no reason why you couldn't be in in 3 weeks time. However.....many solicitors need a rocket up their rear to do anything...you be that rocket0

You could probably speed things up a few days by starting the searches now, instead of wait until the survey come back.0

Yea I was thinking of getting the Solicitors to start their searches now as we've got the mortgage accepted and can't see us pulling out upon the survey unless its really drastic, also can't see the house being overvalued as it is in the cheapest price bracket for our area.
Anyone advise against me starting the searched now? Cheers.0 -
What type of survey are you getting done?0
-
Sorry, getting a homebuyers survey at teh same time as the valuation survey is taking place.0

Survey report should typically take 2 weeks to come back
Completion should not be more than 2-3 weeks later at most, if it is then they are dragging their heels and need taliking to.0
