Can someone please tell me in the newspaper, publication of A'Level results, what does the number in brackets after the first number mean for e.g A Blog 3(1).

Results of Stockport grammer school look odd compare for e.g to Manchester Grammer school. In that Stockport has higher numbers in bracket and lower number outside the bracket, where as with other schools there are lower number in brackets and higher number outside bracket. I don't understand.0 -
I think it's the number of AS levels passed (i.e. A Blog got A-Levels in 3 subjects and 1 AS-Level in another subject).0
