Car insurance advice

Hi,
My car insurance is due for renewal next month. I was covered by Quinn but a few months ago they had a few "issues" and stopped dealing with UK business. The are now dealing with the UK again but for obvious reasons I don't want to stay with them.
The offered me a renewal price of £1131 as I only had a licence for 1 year and 1 years no claims
I have been on all the comparison sites and there are some insurers that could save me a few hundred quid but I have never heard of any of them and some of the reviews are a bit scary!
Has anyone any advise on good companies to go with?
Thanks
Rach

I'm with the Admiral group, specifically Diamond. I've been with them since I got my own insurance, they were the only ones I could afford! Initially I paid about £800, I had no no-claims and 3 points on my licence. I used their "bonus accelerator" where they give you a years no-claims for 10 months of insurance, but only for the first year.
Diamond, Admiral, Elephant and Bell are all part of the same group and their policies are pretty much identical, but their prices vary wildly. Try all of them on their own sites, if you get a good quote from one the others will match it so you can pick which one you want to go with.
I've had 3 claims on my insurance in the last 3 years, 2 non-fault and 1 fault (I live next to a primary school and there is only on-street parking, so my poor car has been dented a lot!!) and they have been easy to deal with and very prompt in making arrangements.
Sorry I went on a bit there, hope it helps! Best of luck with cutting the cost
