Probation period

When you start a job which has a probation period, do you need to be informed that you are out of the period after the time is up?
Im just asking because Ive got past my probation time in my contract but had no word from the company to say Im not on probation anymore. Do they need to state this to me or do I just take it as a given that if I pass the 3 months without problem I am off the probation?
If that makes sense!
Thanks

I'd say, although I may be wrong, that in this instance no news is good news, and that you've successfully passed the probabationary period. But if you're concerned, raise it with your line manager.
Congratulations on the weight loss by the way!0 -
The reason Im asking is because Im moving house and if the company dont cover the area Im moving to, I will be handing in my notice. Its quite far from here so I cant really stay with the company in this area. So Im just wondering how much notice to give but I will call the company to ask just incase.
I was wondering if they absolutely had to tell you that it was done because Im over by a month or so now and havent heard anything.Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -

Ok
Thankyou! I did think giving the full notice would be better anyway as I dont want to drop them in it as such with no one to take over what I do and a weeks notice would do that. Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -
Also, is it possible to request to have any holidays owed in the final week? As that would really help give me time to pack/move!Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0

Yep, I'd say if you've heard nothing it's probably good news. I'm sure you'd be informed if they were extending it.
Good luck.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

It is possible to ask them to assist your move by providing gold elephants to move your stuff, but whether you get it or not is another question. But ask the company, not us.Also, is it possible to request to have any holidays owed in the final week? As that would really help give me time to pack/move!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I was in a similar position to you honey, my probation ended last year and as per the contract i was to have a review but that came and went and after being where i am for at least 14 months ive had enough. Ive enguired about my pay review as per the contract and ive been told it takes 6 weeks for the person to do them to get round to doing them which takes the ****. Im going on the premise that ive passed my probation and i have to give 4 weeks notice but hope to give less as i have holidays left0

I hope it all works out for you!
Is it best to know how much holiday you have accrued? I dont really know but if I find my wage slips I should be able to work it out.Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -
I was never formally told I was off my 3 month probation, I have been at my current place for 7 months now, I assume I am safe, my contract is permanent0
