Baggage allowance for Easyjet

Hello all,
me and partner are flying with Easyjet in September. We want to book the tickets but are a bit confused by the luggage allowance. I know it is 20 kg per passenger per case but when booking the tickets if you choose one case it says the maximum allowance is 32 kg?!
If anyone could let me know what the actual allowance is I would be very grateful as I will be stuffing my hand luggage with clothes!!!
Thanks
Faye

Easyjet normally allow people travelling together under the same booking to pool the allowance. Your individual allowance is 20kg. The maximum weight of 1 suitcase is 32kg. Therefore, if you take 1 bag between you, you can take upto 32kg. If you take 2 bags, your allowance is 40kg spread over the 2 bags.
Hope this helps.0 -

That's good to know, wish they made it more obvious!!

Always better (imho) to take 2 smaller cases, just in case one goes AWOL.
You'll pay the same amount in luggage fees anyway, whether you take 2 x 20kg or 1 x 32kg.0 -
No, you only pay half the amount in hold luggage fees if 2 people take one case weighing 32kg rather than two cases upto 20kg. Bet the baggage handlers are delighted with the 32kg limit!0

How come an individual's allowance is 20kg but you say you can take one bag up to 32kg and just pay for one bag?
Surely everybody would be rushing out to buy massive cases to avoid paying for 2 lots of luggage fees?
If they only pay for one allowance (20kg according to Easyjet's website) but turn up with a case weighing 32kgs won't they be charged for 12 kilos excess (at £10 per kilo)?
Actually, just like the OP I find Easyjet's website policy on luggage very confusing - what's the 50kg limit?:
Baggage Allowances
Each passenger is permitted- one standard piece of hand baggage to maximum dimensions of 56x45x25cm, and
- Up to 8 pieces of checked-in hold baggage to a maximum combined weight of 20kg. Each piece of checked-in hold baggage will incur a fee, which is payable online or at the airport at a higher charge. A fee per kilo for excess weight is charged at the airport prior to departure
Liquids in hand baggage are subject to the following government-imposed restrictions:- The liquid is in a container with a maximum volume of 100ml
- All liquid containers meeting the maximum volume of 100ml can be fitted comfortably into a transparent, re-sealable 1 litre plastic bag, measuring 20cmx20cm.
- The plastic bag should be presented separately at security
Each passenger is allowed a maximum combined hold baggage weight of 50kg including any sports equipment, subject to available space. The maximum weight for any single piece of baggage is 32kg. Freight or cargo items cannot be accepted as passenger baggage.

I think the 50kg might be the maximum you are allowed if you: bring sports equipment, a pram, you 20kg allowance AND pay the over the odds price for overweight baggage.Student Moneysaver going to Paris next year! Trying to save!

Easyjet's baggage policy is confusing and has been discussed on here before. But it does seem the case that if an individual books one hold bag the weight limit is 20kg, but if two people book one hold bag the limit is 32kg. In both cases the fee is £9 per journey.0

That makes sense but I'm surprised that Easyjet are willing to lose £18 on a return journey by allowing 2 pax to book one 32kg bag in (thereby saving £18 but just losing 8kgs of luggage).0 -
Just be thankful they do. Most don'tThat makes sense but I'm surprised that Easyjet are willing to lose £18 on a return journey by allowing 2 pax to book one 32kg bag in (thereby saving £18 but just losing 8kgs of luggage).
But it does help bigger groups (eg families) who may want to take 2 cases between 4 people0 -

I'd personally prefer to pay the £18 extra for 2 x 20kgs rather than run the risk of losing ALL our clothes, shoes etc if one 32kg case goes missing.
But I can see how it would help cut down costs for families.0
