I used to avoid calls to and even blocked numbers i knew were the companies chasing me.
As soon as i got a date to go BR i unblocked them all and let them ring and told them that i was going BR and all they asked was the date i had and where and all of them said they would back off and asked me just to contact them with the BR number when i got it.
Was a great big relif to be able to get them off my case.0 -
I've missed 3 Barclaycard payments and they've now handed me over to Mercers (in house debt collector), havent paid Cahoot since January, they handed me over to Santander, and I also have a Santander credit card I havent paid since March and a Barclaycard account with £1k overdraft outstanding. They have all been calling and I have only picked up 2 in total and put the phone down (one called me in work). I've had tons of letters also. So far, no debt collectos have called to the house, though they have no rights away. The calls are actually slackening a bit, well its that or I've gotten so used to them!0

Me 3. I was in the process of trying to consolidate (with parents help) and make reduced payments until sorted. Time scales became an issue, as they rejected offers of reduced and pushed harder (default notes etc). Looked into more options, advised to go bankrupt and the've not got a penny from me since.
You'd have thought they would know better. Maybe there are people who do bow to the pressure and pay what they cant afford. Which is a shame.I'm no expert, but i'll give you my opinion, my support and my experience. Its all i have.

To the OP dont worry about door knockers Ive had 1 creditor telling me I will get a face to face for 3-4 months now and its never happened. Even if it does just dont let them in and ask them not to disturb the pitbull as its sleeping0
