in IVA & DRO
hi
I'm currently living at my parents house and was due to move into rented accommodation next week however it looks like it has fell through as I was not accepted by rentshield due to having an iva.I made them aware of this on my application plus the new landlords were aware of this and everything was ok. Had good references from work and previous addresses, !!!!!! of income and had been honest from the start.Everything was running fine. I was then asked for a guarantor so my mother put her name down. She works for local government, owns her own house and has a good credit history yet i still got refused. My girlfriend and i can afford this place and really thought this was it.
Since then i have sent rentshield via email my last 4 months wages slips, recent p60, references again and a statement from the people who dealt with the iva saying that i've had it for 10 months and payments are made on time and in full... is this going to sort it? I'm out of ideas now... please help with some sound advice. I don't want to lose this place.
thanks

It is hard has everything seems to be credit scored these days
Is an option that your girlfriend has the lease just in her name (presuming her credit file is clean)?
And if it all goes well, a little tip, do not get a joint account whilst you are in the IVA. This could well end up having your girlfriend linked financially to you at the credit agency, and this will affect her (I found out AFTER my IVA and the joint account my wife and I have)
Hope it goes well for you, ket us knowThere are 10 kinds of people that understand binary
Those that do
Those that dont

Hi althas thanks for replying
Its all confusing.I suggested what you said about doing with putting it in my girlfriends name to the landlords last night after they'd said rentshield hadn't accepted us because of the iva and the landlord should be calling some time today about it. If it happens. However you've got me thinking now because my girlfriend was being chased for some money from a halifax joint account for a while, which will be paid off shortly, after i had taken out the iva as i included it in my bills. Clean slate so to speak. So thanks for the heads up but think that may have played a part.
I also spoke to rentshield as i was fuming and they said that they only speed up the references and that the final decision is down to the landlords and that they get a report so somewhere down the lines be it rentshield, the agent, whoever this is and the landlords, someone is putting a stop on things. The landlord said its down to rentshield and rentshield say its down to them and i'm still none the wiser. Its really odd too that another property we went for was through rentshield and that also fell through.0
