Is it ok to have no furballs?

Silly question, but here goes.....

My cat is 2 1/2 yrs old n has only ever brought up 2 furballs. Is this normal?
He was just making that noise where he was going to bring one up, but he stopped n went back outside to play.
I presume the fur he's licking off is coming out the other end while the rest is stuck to the carpets and my clothes:rotfl:
Every time life knocks me down, I just stay on the ground for a bit and look up at the sky for a while. Eventually I get up and have a cup of tea.

As your cat is allowed to go outdoors it will have far less furballs than a cat kept indoors 24-7. He will be losing a lot of loose fur running through those bushes and squeezing in little hidey holes. He's also more likely to eat grass which helps everything flow through nicely.

I've cats all my life and only witnessed furball coughing up about twice.

If you keep them groomed (they love it) not as much hair will get in their system.

He has just started going back outside over the last few weeks (didn't like the cold, wet weather) so i would say he's a mainly indoor cat as he just jumps about the garden or sprawls out in the sun and doesn't seem to stay out for long (he must enjoy his home comforts too much!) Also i've never seen him eat grass- is this a good thing??

I have only recently invested in a Furminator, which is fab!! So a big thanx to everyone who's raved about it on the forums without you all I would never have known it exsisted:T

Cats are too clever for their own good- why lick the fur off when you can de-fluff yourself all over your owners black top:rotfl:Runs off to get changed before picking DS up from school:o

If they are outdoors a lot you might not realise how often they are sick as our lot love to munch half the lawn then be sick immediately afterwards. They aren't usually sick in the house, apart from yesterday that is when they managed to leave a grand total of 4 "presents" for me.

I cant ever remember seeing a furball from any of the cats I've ad around me for 23 years but they've all been house cats that is why I presume why we never see em.

I grew up with cats and didn't even know what a furball was until I got my own as an adult. My cat is long haired and only has a couple of furballs a year. We try to brush her a lot as a lot of fur does come out of her. We have a Furminator too, you can get several furballs out of her coat in ten minutes with that.
