Hi

Ive just got my bill for the last 6 months, from 20th Oct to the 20th April.

I used £158.08 electric
I used £519.09 gas

I am on their Go Fix rate for both electricty and gas.

My account was in roughly £71 credit and theyve used that off the bill and used the £100 bonus I got for staying with them, which makes my bill £9.38 in debit

The new bill is on estimates (I need to check them, but am just about to head out to get my baby weighed at clinic)

My old DD was £80 a month they want to increase it to £98

Should I ring them and tell them not to increase it?

Just I will not be using as much gas over the next 6 months as I have over the winter, I havent had the heating on for a couple of weeks now.

I dont understand why they want to increase it?

They are estimating I am going to use
2796 units of electricity totalling £253.04 ex vat (over winter I used 1432kwh)
21530 units of gas totalling £659.46 ex vat (over winter I used 15515kwh)

Or am I just being thick lol

Their estimate is for the 12 months ahead and they calculate the DD on that amount.

Companies usually have their annual review in Spring and fix the DD for the next 12 months.

If there is any change required in the Autumn(price rises, change in consumption estimate etc) they might review it again.

If you used 15,500kWh in the last 6 months of winter, their estimate of 21,500kWh over the next 12 minths seems about right. Ditto electricity.

Your gas consumption is slightly above the UK average, and your electricity consumption slightly below.

An old boiler and/or poor insulation can account for that gas consumption.

Hi Kindofaglir. I've just got my npower bill and I'm on Go Fix. On their home page you can put in your postcode, bottom left where it says switch to npower for great energy prices, click on compare energy prices, and see if there is a cheaper tariff for you than Go Fix. I have just done that on
    Elec 2547kwh
    Gas 19102 kwh
It shows a saving of £94pa if I switch from the Go Fix tariff to the new Go Fix 2 tariff. So I have switched. Prices are fixed til 31 July 2011 on Go Fix 2.
    Hope this helps!

    Hi

I'm also on Go Fix. Did a comparison on the npower website - for me Go Fix is still cheaper than SOL 18 and Go Fix 2.

A month or two before Go Fix ends, I'll probably switch to SOL18 or maybe they'll have a SOL19 or a Go Fix 3 that's cheaper.
