My dopey husband!!!

 We are painting the bannisters and skirting boards ready for carpet to be layed. I bought a good white gloss thinking that it would save time and money in the long run - better coverage and all that. Well my berk of a husband has just gone up and sanded off the gloss I put on last night!!!!! Did it look horrible? No he just thought I hadn't done there. I'm fuming!!! Is it grounds for divorce?

Has anyone else's partner done silly things like this?

I don't think it will make you feel any better but my prat of a husband came back from 6 months of being away, and during that time I painted the hall way, As I am 5ft there are a few bits that needed touching up, the weirdo used paint that we had used for the bathroom.....about 4 million times more yellow that the downstairs.....the whole thing needed painting again.

I think divorce is to good, you should bring this up everytime he annoys you, or just keep telling him he he missed a bit when he redoes it.
Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY

are you ladies saying that you've never ever done anything a bit daft
and just think if us men were perfect you'd have nothing to moan at

also on the painting front , make sure that the sand paper hasn't torn the gloss, esp if it was coarse paper , do a little bit and see if it goes on alright , if not you( or rather he) may have to undercoat it and sand it smooth .
also always u/coat even if it says no need to u/c on the tin

My dad once hung flowery wall paper upside down. The whole of the landing &, hall & stairs:rotfl: He left it & they lived with it until they moved 13 years later. My mum still hasn't let him live it down:rotfl:

Ooh, my mate used to live in private rented house where the landlord had hung fleur de lys wallpaper upside down. It took us ages to work out what was wrong with the room!

at least your husband didn't insist on doing the glossing with the carpet there, and not even covering it 'cos he'll be careful'

I recently tiled our bathroom my gf & her mate told me I should put 1 tile on the wrong way round (pattern going up and down instead of sideways) to "confuse people".
I didn't realise they were joking and I always do what I'm told.:o
    Oh how they laughed:mad:

The blooming idiot only went and painted the frames and doors of the kids rooms last night and sealed them in!!!!!!!!!! Ontop of this he over painted the two steps I had taken AGES to carefully prepare and undercoat. I lovingly sanded them so that they were perfectly smooth and then painted them with brushstrokes the same direction as the grain. Pillock then comes along and slaps on a LOAD of gloss in the opposite direction - they look horrible! He then gets the hump when I point this out to him!!!!!!!! I wish he would just accept that he is useless at DIY and leave it to me.

You could be writing about the same man, he tells me that he is in the Navy....I wonder if he tells you the same thing....he might be married to us both. Nice to know if it is the same man, he's not just a donkey here.

When I had my son I had a c-section, and he hadf to wear scubs, and the prat put those special shoes over his trainers........the midwife had to take him by the hand and explain.....bless......hmm
