Farnborough or nearby ideas?

We are staying for the weekend in Farnborough, and just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for things to do there or day trips from there?
Looking for something scenic and interesting for a couple. Does not need to be in the town , don't mind doing a day trip from there less than 50 mins each way.

Anything anyone?
Winchester looks like 45 mins drive but just wondering if any better recommendations?0 -
You could get to Portsmouth/Southsea within an hour and just have a wander along the sea front, or spend a bit and pop over to the Isle of Wight on the hovercraft. Likewise by train you could get to London for sightseeing (though not scenic).
If you are into museums then Milestones at Basingstoke is well worth a visit for local history. The Vyne (National Trust) to the north of Basingstoke has pleasant walks through the grounds. Guildford is an interesting place with a ruined castle and walks (and boat trips) along the River Wey.
The Mid-Hants steam railway (Watercress Line) runs from Alton to Alresford and is a good way to unwind, plus the town at both ends are interesting to walk round. Wisley Gardens (RHS) are up the A3 from Guildford. Winkworth Arboretum (National Trust) is near Godalming and again offers pleasant walks, especially the bluebells at this time of year. Selbourne has an interesting museum and good walks.0 -
Does not need to be in the town ,
Just as well, I can't think of any reason for going to or staying in Farnborough apart from work. There is a small air museum near the airfield and Aldershot military museum is a few minutes away..
Winchester is within an hour and you could spend a day there.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0
