maternity leave and pay

hi

i am just working out what length of maternity leave i am going to take but i was wondering if somebody could advise me? i know for the first 9 months i am entitled to SMP but if i took the additional 3 months that i am entitled to would i be able to claim anything as i know you don't receive SMP? my Hubby earns £17k. If you need any more info from me let me know, not sure what you would need to know to be able to answer :)

    No you wont be entitled to anything extra as its your choice to not go back. You will still get your child tax credits and child benefit though.

    Have you thought about bringing your maternity leave to end after 39 weeks and taking holiday accrued?
