Transfer Wifes Balance

I have a new IF CC which has a low life of balance rate and was hoping to get my wifes balance onto my CC so its all in 1 place but when I try to move it it says error. Is this because its not my card? My wife now works part time to look after our 8 month old baby so cannot get a high enough credit limit on her own card to move her balance.

Try doing the balance over the telephone.
Some cards have a maximum of 95% of available limit on balance transfers.Is this likely to be the problem.
Remember also that your wife's debt will now become your debt if you proceed.0
