How long would you wait for a refund?

:question: Just looking for opinions if you would be so kind, have returned a faulty item bought off Ebay to seller via 1st Class Recorded Post, was signed for on 17th August, what sort of time scale would be expected to pass before a refund is made via PayPal?. Seller has been brusquely cooperative in so far as he has agreed to refund purchase price + p&p but states return p&p is down to me, had hoped he would reconsider but if not no major issue, will just have to accept a £4 loss. If refund not forthcoming what can I do next, if anything?. Never been in this situ before.

To be fair, its only been a couple of day, and the guy has probably been at work, so not giving him time to sort things out. the last thing he'd want to do when coming home from a hard days work is sort out a refund (I know its faulty but still).
I reckon he'll do it today.
If not, wait until Tuesday, then email him again.

Thanks for your input, sorry I did not make myself understood, it is not my intention to harass the seller hence the question "How long" before I contact him (if it becomes necessary), just want to be prepared (like the Scouts) but am quite happy to wait just not sure of appropriate time scale so thought those of you who post on here would possibly give me the benefit of their experience. Never had to return anything before so this is new territory for me.

Keep an eye on his feedback page and if that remains healthy I would leave it until Monday.
