ebay payment in wrong paypal email account

Morning all, please can you help not sure what to do. I sold some items on ebay and yesterday the buyer sent the payment to my paypal account.

Recently I moved from tiscali to talktalk (for my sins) and my paypal account is logged in using the new talktalk email addy. Unfortunately, the payment has gone into my old email address at tiscali which is now closed.

What do I do ? do I email the buyer and ask them to resend the payment I do not have any access to my old tiscali email account so cannot use it or can I change my settings on paypal. I did try but I seem to have to clink on a link in the tiscali email account and I cannot access that.

Any advice would be gratefully received - thank you Welshy x

You could ask them to do a chargeback on the old account and see if that works so they can claim the money from the in-active account other than that contact paypal and see what they suggest

The payment will bounce back after 30 days and as there is a paypal account that was associated with the old email address it can't be recalled any other way. All you can do is wait for the buyer to have the payment bounce back, and then ask them to pay again then. It does mean you will have a bit of a wait for your money though.

Thanks for your reply. I contacted paypal who said I would have to wait for payment but in the meantime I contacted the 2 buyers and asked if they could re-send payment to the correct address. On my ebay both buyers had a status of paid but now they are showing as just having received invoices. I am hoping that they pay promptly as OH has posted the one item off already.
