Contract Cleaners - going rate?

Hi there

Wondered if theres any london based landlords who can make any suggestions.

Im gearing up to sell ( still) and thinking after we have done a few bits of decorating whether it might be a good idea ( altohugh not moneysaving) to pay a contract cleaning firm to give the place a good "going over"

Its a 2 bed flat, and Id want the ot done, oven, floors, windows, the works.

Just out of interest, what is the "going rate" how long would this take? What would be an economical way of doing it? ( apart from cleaning myself, but I can just never get it clean "enough" for my liking lol )

cleaning an empty house is a lot quicker than cleaning round furniture and nick-nacks. i would not expect to pay more than 6 hours tops for a really good clean, including windows (excluding carpet shampooing/steaming whatever). i pay £8.50 per hour for my fabulous ladies, but, they are self employed, work from home and dont have high overheads.

  • Lynz, I know what you are saying but, so long as you have vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom work surfaces and kitchen sink, cleaned your windows, oven, dusted the skirting boards and moved all your stuff out, really thats all any buyer would really want!

You could do that in half a day and save yourself £50 or more. Imagine what you coudl spend that on.

You can get a cleaner in Lancs for £7 an hour, but I expect in East London your talking more like £17 an hour!

Good luck with the move anyway, hope it goes well.
