Drivetime Sony Bournemouth

Drivetime Sony of Bournemouth is allegedly a Sony Approved Dealer. The service I received was just appalling. I ordered a complete TV package and the items ordered and paid for were either delivered late, never delivered or are the wrong ones. It took four months to get an item and the same amount of time to get the retailer to provide a replacement for a faulty device. Phone calls and letters were never answered. Registered letters to the retailer were returned as refused receipt. A full invoice was requested and promised and even when a SAE was sent nothing ever materialized. All in all the worst experience ever from a retailer. It is my opinion that this retailer should be avoided and if it is an authorized one then it shouldn't be. I have since learnt that I am not alone with the experience, there are many other customers that have had the same or similar experience.

Sony UK has since contacted me and they are now fully aware of the whole saga, they were extremely apologetic and very embarrassed to learn of my experience. It is also a shame that their product name is being tarnished by one rogue retailer.

My recommendation is if Sony products are what one is going to buy in the Bournemouth area then use the Sony Centre in Bournemouth. :) The staff there is extremely helpful, courteous and make the customer feel comfortable with asking of questions that might seem trivial. The after sales support is second to none, all in all a very pleasant experience and I have already ordered further products, they have restored my customer satisfaction in the Sony brand. :T

I read your post. Interesting. I have vowed never to cross the threshold of the shop again. I too have heard similar stories. Who voted excellent in your poll?

Is that the one on Holdenhurst Road? I went in there once, to ask (on a complete off-chance) if they had a VGA to component adaptor. They said they didn't, and that no such thing existed because one was a digital signal and the other wasn't.

    Me too, for fun.

But what we really want to know, is what does Freddie think OP should do to the company?

To answer Esqui, yes it is on Holdenhurst Road.

What do I want to do with the poll? Nothing really, just put it on there to see if there was anyone else that had constructive feedback.

As stated by Freddie I'm new to this particular site and added my entry as I'd seen something very similar from a few years ago.

No idea what Freddie's ideas are, I did seek legal advice regarding the retailer but it would have been too costly forme to progress. I have a massive file of correspondence which is from me, sadly nothing from the retailer, just goes to show what the after sales service is like. My point is really is that the retailer is giving the Sony brand a very poor name which they do not deserve.
