Told my boss I was pregnant. And now I`ve lost my job

Have you involved your union in this?0

You must have had something in writing connected with your change of job - a letter which told you of your new salary if nothing else? Unless there was a major change of terms, like going from perm to temp, I would have thought original terms would stand, you simply had an internal promotion.
Why did your doctor advise you to go off sick though?0 -
You have been told you are to lose your job so you have nothing to lose by fighting this, go for it.Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.0

You need to check the new contract you were given in September when your hours and location changed. If you weren't given a new contract, then you are officially still employed on your old contract and it could easily be that the new role was temporary.
You have not really given enough info for anyone to give exact advice. I may be wrong but it seems you are trying to get us to think your pregnancy is the reason they are making your job temporary but in reality the full-time job may have never been permanent.0 -
I agree in principle but surely in a case like this there is no 'her word against theirs' as her 'temporary position' should have been confirmed in writing!
Question is - has she signed a contract on full time position? Does she have anything, a letter or an email asking her to change to full time position? It would definitely be easier to prove they are in the wrong...0 -
Hi.
Okay... from what I can tell... when you took on the job, did they mention any of this? Did they give you a contract? If it's written it's easier, but a verbal contract is binding.
Second. In my opinion, it sounds like they changed the job on hearing you were pregnant. This sounds like a case of sex discrimination (becuase of the pregnancy pat) (without details not sure if direct or indirect) but there are similar case laws to your problem. The reasoning behind it all is fairly long winded, but people with virtually identical cases to yours have kicked butt!
I would contact the equality and human rights commission who can give you more details.
Good luck!0 -

Possibly because this is what the OP wants us to believe. I am playing Devil's Advocate here a little but I also don't think the OP has put forward enough info regarding this. Her post is worded to make it sound like she has lost the job through being pregnant, but she has offered no back-up to support the fact that she believes the job was permanent.0 -
This is true, didn't really think about that! Hopefully the OP will provide some more info!0
