OK. Last weeks edition of Auto Express (available to view in all good newsagents
) has a product honours award and they rated the Ring RAC 600 (around £20) as the best buy:
http://www.ringautomotive.co.uk/product_detail.asp?prod=1886
The two models of the Michelin inflators (Hi-Power £39.99 in Halfords and Rapid Hi-Power £44.99 in Halfords) came 2nd and 3rd.
I have the Rapid Hi Power version of the Michelin inflator which is very good indeed and this is available for £27.99 from Amazon.
But to play devils advocate I would also recommend the Michelin Double Barrel Footpump:

This is because long term the electric inflators get damaged and parts aren't easily available or repairable and when you need to use it you'll find it's kaput. And when you need to inflate your tyre at midnight or 6am, your neighbours won't appreciate the racket from the electric compressor. The footpump will stand up to more abuse and make a better long term buy.The man without a signature.0 -

+1 for the foot pump. I have faffed around with too many electric ones, they are slow and they conk out.
So unless you have difficulty pumping stick to a foot one.0 -
I agree with Hintza. I bought a double barrelled foot pump from Halfords for around ten quid years ago and it works just fine. Good exercise too.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

1/3 off at Halfords right now on all footpumps/tyre inflators0
