Should I contact my Car Insurer?

Hi All,
I would apreciate if someone could give me some advice.
Yesterday, I was involved in a minor car accident (other driver's fault). basically, I was parked up and stationery when the other driver tried to reverse park - she misjudged the space and ended up reversing into the passenger side of my car.
We exchanged details (names & addresses etc) and the other driver has admitted all responsibility for the accident (I also have a witness).
Anyway today, the driver has phoned me and says that her insurance company will deal with the claim and that her insurance company will contact me in due course.
What I would like to know is, should I contact my car insurance company? even though she is claiming from her insurance company.
Should I log the accident with my car insurance company anyway?
I would apreciate if someone could give me some advice.

inform your insurance company so that if anything goes wrong you still have a valid claim. Then when you receive an offer to settle from the other persons insurance you can inform your insurance company.I had a similar experience last year and the other persons insurance arranged the repairs and hire car much quicker than my insurance would have done.Everything went fine for me no probs.0 -
probably , but this will likely now mark you down for an increase of premium next time round, since using the insurance peoples logic you are now a person who is more 'likely' to be involved in an incident in future.
yes - I know you did nothing, but that seems to be their logic0 -
you need to notify your company but make it clear it is for information only and you don't need them to do anything at this stage0

Thanks, I have taken all of your advice and have informed my insurance company - better to be on the safe side.0

OK here it is - you used the word "stationery" A really good way to remember how to spell it is
E for envelope - stationery (paper and pens and stuff)
A for automobile - stationary (cars)
Glad to help.
Oh and it is a big resounding YES about contacting your insurers. Don't ever do anything they could use against you at a later date.0
