Middle income and child tax credit with disabled element

Hi, Im a mum of 4 boys and my husband is classed as a middle earner. We claim tax credits for all of the children but we get both elements of the disability due to youngest son having juvenile Arthritis and being very unwell. Im really worried that because my hubby earns 34.400 and also pays 3330 in co car tax which is taken as income and i get carers allowance a taxable social security benefit we will go over the 40,000 mark and have our tax credits stopped. As i have had to give up my job to look after my son we rely on them to manage. Does any one have any idea if the disabled element will be protected we only got £20 per week for 4 kids before baby got poorly will i lose this and keep other elements or lose the lot.
Any advise is greatly received as im losing sleep over what is going to happen

Unfortunately I don't think anything has been decided so we will all have to wait and discover what the new government decides on the issue of tax credits - but on reflection i don't think they can alter anything until the tax year 2011/12?

Thanks very much for your reply. Why do you think 2011/12 is it because the figures are already going through with re-newals. Nothing was mentioned today about CTC was it or have i missed something. I know CTF are being axed which is understandable, i always thought they were a waste of money, my kids are worth £60 less than was originally invested.0

From what I've read, it appears to be "we would like to do this" and not "we're doing this".Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I think we will have to wait for the emergency budget on June 22nd to find out exactly if,what and when with the Tax credits! I'm sure that as soon as the info is given someone will post here to let us know what if anything is happening - so no point worrying just yet!
