NatWest end of balance transfer offer

Options
My 0% with NatWest is due to expire at the end of September.

They have recently written to me offering me an automatic upgrade to a gold card to come in at, you've guessed it, the end of September. Apparently I have been especially selected. Of course, I have been - they dont want me to close my account at the end of the promo period!

I suppose this is their new way of stopping people leaving after the end of the promo period, but its not going to work on me - I'll still push for more. I'd rather use my dull blue bmi card or black Morgan Stanley card and get benefits than a gold card which gives me none.

Anyone else have this offer towards the end of their promo periods? And since I will be getting a new credit card number, will this appear as a separate account on my credit forms?

Anyone? Also, since this is a new account with a new number, does that mean that my current NatWest credit card account will appear as settled on my credit report and a new entry will appear? I'm trying to keep the number of accounts down.

  • hubby's mint promo period is coming to an end in November and he was recently informed that as he'd been the perfect customer he would get up graded to their gold card.

We had the option of opting out, which we did.

Both are run by RBS so you never know this may be a standard thing.
