Does PILON change Redundancy pay?

My husband is going to find out if he is being made redundant at 2.30 today.

He's emailed me from work to ask if I can find out:

Will taking payment in lieu of notice affect his redundancy pay?

If it is relavent he has worked there 3 years 10 months and is 25.

Also if they offer pay in leiu of notice does that mean he could finnish today?

STRESS!!!!

Would his notice period take him into 4 years service? If so it would otherwise it won't.

Thank you ,it may do, we dont know what his notice period is yet. They are being very cagey.

The main thing I think he is worried about is if he says he will take Payment in leiu of notice today will he get less or no redundancy money?

It is terrible how they dont give you time to prepare or arm yourself!

Well if he doesnt know then it will be in more than all likiehood statutory (3 weeks) or norm (1 month).

As for you say he finds out today. Has he been notified previously he was at risk? When?
Is he actually been told today he is redundant or just told he is at risk

They told them last monady that someone in his office would go.

Today they are filling in forms to see you gets the lowest score based on attendance, disiplinary, effort etc and then who ever gets the lowest is 'at risk'

although he says someone from another office has already gone home. forever i mean.
