Hi, does anyone know why NTL keeps popping up on screen. I used it to back up yesterday, and it,s just popped up 10 times, keep clicking out, but back it comes. It,s been doing this at random for ages. Apart from removing it, what else can I do? It,s a nuisance.

Hi, Thanks for reply. It may be NTI.It,s part of Vista Premium OEM,s menu.for backing up , burning etc. I used it yesterday to back my system up to cd.Trouble is it is forever popping up , today 15 times, why i,ve no idea. It,s a nuisance, more than anything. As soon as I click out, it pops up again.probably won,t do it now for a while, then "bingo" it,s popping up again. The only NTL I've heard of is the predecessor to Virgin Cable, could you expand please?0 -
Ah Windows NT backup.
Maybe the programme is corrupt, you can download it from here. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=7da725e2-8b69-4c65-afa3-2a53107d54a7&displaylang=en
Maybe its covered by windows update as well. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Just that windows update will cover all the Microsoft programmes you have on the PC and keep them up to date.
I think I'd uninstall and reinstall it.
If I recall its not the best backup programme around.
I gave up and got an HP Simple Save external Harddisk, less hassle. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
HI,penrhyn, took NTI off, however when I tried downloading windows NI,it,s a different progrm entirely.rather complicated. Is it back up to server? in the ether ,not cd/dvd? It,s not just a straight download, you have to go into cotrol, etc, enable this, that, etc, got as far as server manager, couldn,t find it, and gave up. Any advice appreciated.cheers NTI is a paid for suite, part of OEM free when I bought vista, never cared for it so no big lossJust that windows update will cover all the Microsoft programmes you have on the PC and keep them up to date.

Hi, Yes got that, used it along with NTI, somehow it backed up on 1 cd, no how, 1.3gb on NTI.I shall just use that till get something better. Couldn,t do with NTI popping up all the time. Once you have uninstalled something is it gone forever? What about going back to restore point?I only ever used NTI for backing up, can get away with Windows. Is NT to server ?Whoops sorry about that.

I can't believe that you managed to back up your PC to one disk, I've not got that much on my PC but the size of the backup is around 100 Gb.
You could go back to a restore point, NTI have a site with free trial downloads. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Hi, When I tried to back up all C drive, NTI said I needed 3.5gb so 1 cd was no good, ranout of dvd,s.Then I told windows to back up using blank cd, said it was success.no way, don,t know what it backed up.I don,t have too much on, photos, no documents, few small files, probably not worth backing up often. Not worth paying NTI, windows will suffice I think.I have back up discs with main stuff on.No problem, I should have double checked before uninstalling, it was winding me up anyway. Cheers.Done worse:rotfl:I can't believe that you managed to back up your PC to one disk, I've not got that much on my PC but the size of the backup is around 100 Gb.
