Do landlords have to provide blinds/curtains?

As in the title really! We've seen a lovely house to rent but as its brand new, there are no curtains or blinds up at the windows. We've asked the letting agents and they say blinds are going to be put up at the windows, but not at the Velux windows.
Our nursery and also the bathroom will be the rooms with the Velux windows, so really we need a blind up! Not sure how much can be seen from other houses into the bathroom, but definitely needed for the nursery for light.
Is the landlord obligated to provide something?
If not, any window dressing tips for velux please?!!

Velux window blinds are dear aren't they? Have a look and see how you'd feel about buying them...0

If it's unfurnished, they don't have to provide anything. It is usual to provide curtains, but not mandatory.
Get it agreed in writing before you sign the contract, either that you can put curtains up & repair the damage after, that the landlord puts curtains up for you, or the landlord puts up poles for you. I'd go with one of the latter two options.
For the veluxs you need proper velux blinds. These are quite easy to fit (providing you can actually reach the windows). Try ebay for some cheaper than in the official shops. They offer blackout ones too. You need the model number of the window, which is on a panel, visible when the window is open. I'd ask the landlord to provide these, as they must be screwed into the frame, & can't really be removed (without leaving obvious signs).
Whatever you do, make sure you get it agreed in writing.0 -

depends on the size. Much cheaper in ebay shops though.0 -
At the same time check to see if the phone line is connected. TV aerial too. Both commonly not connected in new builds. Or you might find these suprise costs after you move in.0

And they improve the property once you put them in...0
