Mouldable by hand filler?

I wonder if anyone can tell me if its possible to buy a wood filler or one suitable for wood that can moulded by hand a bit like playdough to fill a gap? This would then need to be painted.
Basically weve an odd size angled gap to fill and weve tried it with normal filler and it stands out a mile. What is needs is some filler/putty smoothing in by hand and moulding to a suitalbe smoothness by hand. The gap is quite wide so id make the filler into a sauage shape and them smooth it in
Many Thanks

Can you not simply run a bead of flexible filler over it and just run a finger down?
To answer your question of a hand mouldable filler the nearest thing i'm aware of is
Locite Repair Express Power Putty.. it's epoxy resin based. You cut off a slice and roll it by hand to mix the two layers together and push it in place. Use a filling knife or other tool to smooth it over or just a wet finger. Unlike some fillers it doesn't shrink. It's sandable (v. hard though so best to get it as good as possible first time) and paintable as well as waterproof. Downside is it's relatively expensive. I tried using it on filling screw holes in skirting boards and it worked a treat without having to paint the screw heads in first. Discovered it when wanting to fix a cracked drain gully - worked brilliantly.0 -
