Hey guys, basically i want a new laptop, i've got about £800 pounds to spend, and i want it mainly for gaming purposes, so reasonably powerful. More specifically i want it to be able to play relatively new games, but the one i absolutely must have is fallout 3.
So basically, whats the most powerful gaming laptop i can buy for £800?
Who would be best to go to?
Oh yeah, size isn't really an issue, though the bigger the better.
Cheers guys.

any reason why you cant have a desktop? can usually get a much better gaming system for the price for example http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/infinity_i3_apollo/
well although this seems really cheap the specs are really good

on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
Dell's Studio 15 laptop has a £729 model with
Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Mobile Processor (1.6GHz, turbo up to 2.8GHz, 6MB L3 Cache)
4096MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [2x2048]
1GB ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD5470 Graphics Card
And Dell is NOT as bad as everyone says.. especially the more expensive models..
I got mine nearly a year ago (A studio XPS) and it's still absolutely incredible...[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

heres the graphics detail on the Dell above, http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-5470.23698.0.html which is not massively powerful for gamesDrop a brand challenge

It would do Fallout 3 on medium settings and Crysis on low..
Left4Dead2 on high..
Which is very good for a laptop sub £800 is it not?(Genuine question.. been a bit out of touch of hardware since being in the US!)

well just for raw graphics grunt the first one in my original post has the best GPU (have a look at the link for details) and is only just over £600 (which i think is pretty good) however its 'only' a core i3 CPU (although still pretty good) and in my personal opinion for gaming is currently the best buy however i have only really looked at ebuyer so there could be some better out there,Drop a brand challenge

It's a Core i5 2.4Ghz processor, Wireless N, 4Gb RAM and I believe the G-Force 330 is a dedicated 1Gb card.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
that looks pretty good Oscar, sort of middle of the road for most things

so not quite as powerful as the 5650 in my first suggestion, but has bigger screen and better CPU so oculd be worth the trade off for the OP's needs, although not sure it would be worth the extra £200 over the Acer one for the specs alone (other than being samsung and not acer) however thats something the OP will of course have to work out their selfDrop a brand challenge
