P60u form missing huge chunk of tax-paid!! How to reclaim my tax still??

in Cutting tax
I got my P60u form a few days ago.
I worked for 3-4months earlier in the tax year just ended, earnt £5,384,
and paid £1,076 in tax.
Have all PAYE payslips showing that gross income and tax paid.
However on the p60 it only shows my taxable-benefit's money that ive recieved,
but no mention of any employment or the pay that i got from that and money that i paid in tax!
The tax-man owes me £1,082 cash, and so im getting extremely fedup with all the delays in getting it back,
and me not legally being able charge them a penalty fee for every extra day that they delay it by!:mad:
Back when i had been phoning up the tax offices after 5th of April to tell them to refund me the money,
and when i finally manages to get through to someone,
they were all total dimwits and didn't have a clue about how their own system works or when/how i could get my rebate!
Just gave me stupid answers like that they cant deal with that stuff themself and id need to contact ''the government'',
that id have to wait till i was in employment and then would get it back automatically (even though my tax code is still wrong even after i sent 20 letters demanding them to change it) and so i simply wont be starting a new job where id be paying tax until ive got all the money im owed back from them,
or just telling me to phone up other tax offices which were't the 1s my payslips were linked to.
I eventually finally managed to force the correct answer out of the tax-office!
(Had to 1stly phone the tax-declarations number which they answer within 4seconds,
pretend that i had evaded paying 300k worth of tax but refused to tell them anymore details apart from my phone number then hungup on them.
So they then phoned me up 20seconds later, so saved me wasting my money calling them,
and i refused to tell them any details about my ''evaded tax'' until they told me exactly how i needed to claim back the tax that they owed me.
So they then told me straight away the correct way that id need to wait till i got my p60u, and then write a letter to them requesting rebate plus enclose the p60u form with the letter).
But now that ive got my p60u form and they haven't included any record or details of all the tax i paid to them back when i worked,
how exactly can i claim back that money now??!
As while the p60u shows all the taxable benefit money that i recieved during the tax year,
my payslips only show the amount of money earnt and and tax paid uptil the date of the last payslip that i recieved from my employer.
(But theres no way of proving that the payslip i post them was really the last payslip i got that year)
So what do i need to do now to get them to send me the proper p60u form with the details of my employment earnings and tax??
Thanks

I would suggest sending part 1A of the P45.0
-
Thanks.

Ive looked around the internet abit and it says that my p45 part 1A and my p60u are sufficent legal proof,
as the p45 would have all income earnt upto the date written on the p45 form.
I have absolutely no trust whatsoever in the tax office though.
And so will photocopies of the p45 and p60u be legally sufficent??
Or can they refuse to deal with you until you post them the originals??
As even though i will be posting it recorded delivery, i dont trust that they wont just lose my originals and then claim that they never got those inside the envelope that i sent.

Ok, it's not quite the same situation, but when I needed to send my P60 to prove I'd paid tax and NI recently, a copy was okay :beer:A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone - Thoreau0 -

Did you hand in your P45 to the jobcentre? If not then that is why the pay and tax details are not included on your P60u

Who have not included the details. You are aware that the P60u is issued by the jobcentre, and will only include that information if YOU, had filfilled your responsibilities and handed in your P45 when you first signed on.

Personally you seem like a very rude individual and I'm very happy I have not had to deal with you this week.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Personally you seem like a very rude individual and I'm very happy I have not had to deal with you this week.
Yes ofcourse i handed in my p45 to the jobcentre when i 1st started signing-on.
And yes i do get extremely pressurising (and if necessary rude in an assertive way) when theres over £1,000 of cash legally owed to me,
but which keeps getting delayed!
And to be honest i don't have any reservations at all about choosing to be like this,
or care if it's not 100% the person at the end of the phones' fault.
As they are the 1s who work for and so are representatives of the tax office,
therefore they are the only 1s in the position to ensure that the money im owed is given to me faster.
And when i become angry about it id either have to keep that anger inside, which will be very bad for me as will make me in bad mood,
or,
i can and do vent it at the people who work for the department that im angry at,
as it gets the anger out of me, normally speeds things up if you do it in the right way by giving them personally deadlines,
and at the end of the day they are being paid minimum wage to sit in the call centres and put up with people demmanding the money that they are owed.0 -

the tax man may or may not owe you a refund - by your own admission you have received taxable benefit in addition to your declared gross pay, so this will be added to your £5,384 gross pay and if that total exceeds your personal allowance you will actually owe more tax to HMRC not them owe you a refund0 -
Being rude does not speed things up. There are processes that have to be followed. You have now written in, it will take approx 10-12 weeks from posting to get your refund.Yes ofcourse i handed in my p45 to the jobcentre when i 1st started signing-on.

How exactly does it keep getting delayed? You have only recently written in. HMRC would not have your information regarding tax paid and income received until they receive their copies of the P60's etc so how are they supposed to know what to refund.
Also, had you handed in your P45 to the job centre then they would have issued the refund assuming you were still signing on as of 05/04/2010.
And to be honest i don't have any reservations at all about choosing to be like this,
or care if it's not 100% the person at the end of the phones' fault.

To be perfectly honest if you came onto the phone with the kind of attitude you have displayed here I would have no hesitation but to end the call.
Despite what you think you cannot intimidate people over the phone, you just end up sounding like a !!!!!!.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Maybe you need to grow the hell up and stop acting like a spoilt brat throwing a tantrum because you can't have your own way. Acting like a jerk won't get any refund out to you quicker. If anything it may do the opposite. There's always creative ways to "lose" the paperwork of someone who's being an idiot. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

I am in a similar position - albeit slightly less demanding !!
I received a P60U on Saturday with only about 3 months worth of benefits mentioned on it - No mention of any previous earnings and no mention of any redundancy payment on it
I think that I owe them money (£1000 +) - so am keeping quiet about it - I would advise you to do similar !!
They give me 60 days to complain - so I am giving them 60 days to put their claim in to me - if I don't hear within 2 months - Am I scott free ?0
