Is the 4 pin ATX power cable plugged in.
And speaker connected.0 -
you did use standoffs?
1st try unplugging and replugging everything just in case things arent seated properly
then reset the BIOS
and try booting again0 -
All components reseated and main ATX power connector including extra four on end plugged in ok. Do you mean reset CMOS battery (done it) not BIOS. Speaker plugged in and tested on another machine so I know it works0
-
First thing I would check is the front panel connectors.
If all the components are brand new and installed correctly, including thermal paste, all power connectors are plugged in correctly, and your front panel connectors are in the right place, the only other things I can suggest are ESD damage or factory faulty components.
Did you use a wrist strap or ground yourself before starting?
Double check then tripple check your front pannel connectors I.E. power switch, power LED, Hdd LED and reset switch.
Disconnect everything from the MOBO that is not essential. If you have onboard graphics remove the graphics card remove all front and back panel USB FW audio connectors, just connect 1 HDD if you have several, the same with CD/DVD drives, and try again.
I had similar the other day rebuilding my system, it turned out to be a faulty front panel USB connector. And boy do I have alot of wiring in my PC.To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -
KISS system is always best :
Assuming you have the video card on it's own 6pin connector and the supplementary 4 pin connector in the MOBO & the 24 pin MOBO plug :-
- take the battery out again, and unplug from the mains
- take all cables off everywhere except the CPU fan
- put in 1 single bar of memory in slot zero
- plug in the video card and it's dedicated power cable
- connect the monitor / keyboard / mouse
- replace the battery and mains
- reboot by shorting the pins on the MOBO
What happens now ?
- try a different VIDEO card
- try different memory / Rev
- re-seat your CPU
- BIOS Rev is no good for the CPU
- VIDEO card doesn't like the MOBODisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. If everythings turning and no beeps, its either GPU or Processor not plugged in.
I had it when my CPU wasn't plugged into motherboard power socket. But you say you've done that...0 -

If you realy must pull your cable off, could you go do it in private please.....Richie-from-the-Boro wrote: »- - put in 1 single bar of memory in slot zero
I have heard memory modules called many things in the past, I've even heard one called a "bookmark."
And besides, not all MOBO manufacurers number their slots in the same way.Richie-from-the-Boro wrote: »- - plug in the video card and it's dedicated power cable
Would that be the 4 pin the 6 pin or the new 8 pin power adaptor, again not all graphics cards have power connectors.....Richie-from-the-Boro wrote: »- - connect the monitor / keyboard / mouse
I'm sure if the OP can put a PC together he know how to plug in the keyboard mouse and monitor.....Richie-from-the-Boro wrote: »- - replace the battery and mains
Which battery would that be?????Richie-from-the-Boro wrote: »- - reboot by shorting the pins on the MOBO
Dude which book did you get this from? Or did you get it from the internet?
Either way it's bad information and you realy shouldn't follow it.....To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -

You having a laugh or something.
OP said there is no post so therefore they cant upgrade the bios.
As i said earlier the 4 pin ATX power cable 12 volt can sometimes cause the computer not to come on depending. Either take it out and try turning it on / off0 -
Presumably its the CMOS battery being referred to. I thought this pretty much had the sole job of maintaining the system clock when power was disconnected in current PC's, but I guess removing it can't hurt. The BIOS settings are stored in NVRAM which is usually cleared with a jumper.
There's quite a few variants of Gigabyte 770T, and some have been made in revisions 1.0 and 1.1. The hardware revision would, I'd think, at the least be printed on the PCB. Taking the example of a GA-MA770T-UD3, the 1.0 revision needs at least BIOS version F4 to cope with that CPU. The 1.1 revision should support it in all versions of the BIOS.0 -

you dont want to be shorting anything on your MOBO unless you want to get your wallet out and buy another one......

tomsolomon and pcombo
I won't at this point bother - but I will come back to you on Monday when hopefully the substance level in your blood level has reduced to the point where you can at least think first.
tomsolomon, of the two is the biggest pratt, front panel connectors and all connectors [ DVD flops etc ] report to the BIOS and should be the first reductive diag proceedure, you are a muppett
a BIOS should BEEP if there is no CPU, VIDEO card, MEMORY, etc - you are a proper daft lad tomsolomon are you not. I assume you have never built a puter ever in your life, you are totally clueless and a muppett
memory bars like computers report as binary parts and report themselves as 0 / 1/ 2/ 3/ etc, you are a muppett
where the heck did I say it was a lappie, enlighten us all tomsolomon, you are a muppett
where the heck did I say a memory slot was called a bookmark, enlighten us all tomsolomon, you are a muppett
Now then I won't bother with the rest until tomorrow, other than to say that your Ben Hur Production style, constructed ambiguity, lavatorial, and ghoulishly slithering post reminds me of a-n-other regular poster who after an short absence hss just poppy'd up this very night.
BTW turbobob, you are correct my friend, often times though the onboard capacitors hold just enough leecy so that the jumpers don't work. My tip for you is just before you re-plug the mains push the reboot / startup button a few times to empty the residual leccy, hence the reason I gave a line~by~line~walkthough to the O/P, unsurprisingly mis-understood by tomsolomon.
Oh and BTW2 I'm not a dude tomsolomon, unlike you I left school in the 50's, I'm old, but still a real man - not a dude / muppett / pratt / daftlad !
In the morning I'll look at your history in this and other groups, everytime you hit the send key it's there in the ether, I'll lookie~see, come back tomsolomon waddaya think M8 ?
