Seen this one reduced on Amazon from £699 to £499 - any thoughts on it or has anyone seen anything better for the price?

I imagine the downfall will be the processor vs something like a T6600 - can anyone spot a better bargain on the sub-£500 range?

Cheers!

That seems like a decent spec laptop considering the overall features, extended 8 hr battery life etc, but like you said, for the processor you could get something newer than the Dual Core series which might be partly why it is being reduced in price, but for a laptop with the newer series of processors in that price range it might not have the extended battery life so you need to weigh up what's more important to you.

My sister (Ex IT support) gave me this tip last year when we were shopping for a laptop. She popped the features we were needing into the 'build your own' option on the Dell website. Dell then gives you a price for making you a machine of that spec. Gives you a good idea of what's a bargain & what isn't!
