Thanks for that. Looks like my homemade trailer is OK.

But that thread just shows how much confusion there is around trailers.

I know. I built a trailer too, and trying to work out what was, and wasn't, legal was an absolute nightmare.

The laws are not confusing - they are crystal clear. Its just that most car drivers can't be bothered to check them.

I think you'll find from the comments there is a lot of confusion over towing laws.

I did my research and unfortunatly got it wrong.
