Council Tax Benefit Question

Hi all,

Thanks for looking at this - I've been a bit lost with something called "Second Adult Rebate". Currently my partner is on maternity leave from work (as of August 2009) and has received maternity pay from work for a couple of months followed by SMP. This is due to end this month and although they are keeping the job position open for her to return until August 2010, she won't be receiving any income for June / July until her return at the end of Aug.

This situation means although she's still "employed" by the company, she isn't actually earning anything, either from the company or JSA. We obviously receive child benefit, but as my income is £24,000 we do not receive anything else.

A couple of questions - are we eligible for Second Adult Rebate on council tax from now until Aug (possibly further as she will just be going back part time - 2 days a week)? And also, when entering figures into entitledto, do I put in an income of zero for my partner?

you cannot claim 2nd adult rebate, you can claim ctb as a couple. 2nd adult rebate is claimed when there is a 2nd adult in the property (not a partner), normally an adult son or daughter.
