tax credit time scale?

Hiya wondered if someone could enlighten me with regards to tax credits,

Called them to renew my claim and gave my end of tax year earnings on 15th april, since then have recieved a provisional award for 2010/2011 but nothing to say i have renewed or any final decisions on my claim. That was weeks ago now and when i called the chap at the tax credits office for an update they said it is still being processed. Does anyone know how long it takes?? it has never taken this long for me before so im a bit confused as to why im still waiting.
I was on maternity leave last year for 39 weeks and so had to deduct 3900 because of smp. It did say i had a pending payment to come once it has been finalised and that money would really come in handy right now. any ideas would be appreciated!:j

Well I called my details through around the same time as you. I got the actual 2009-10 finalised award paperwork and the new 2010-11 paperwork a couple of days ago, I think it was Thursday.

However, I did get payments through before then and I phoned the tax credit people, must have been about a week after I'd phoned through my details and they had processed them and were able to tell me the new payment amounts etc over the phone.

It might be worth phoning them again just to double check what part of the process your claim is current at right now.
