stranded in transit

There was something on the radio today about folk stranded in transit at Manchester airport and all the hotels are full.
Hmmmm. Just a thought. I live 10 mins drive from Manchester airport. I have a room to rent, but I'm inbetween lodgers. A mutually beneficial arrangement: Bit of cash for me, cheap night's accommodation for stranded person. What do people think about renting by the night to people stranded? How would I go about it and has anyone done this?
thanks! T

Go to the airport with a 'Rooms to Rent' sign?0

I think I would rather sleep on the floor of an airport than hand cash over to an individual seeking to gain financial benefit from my inconvenience and upset.0

God knows who you'd end up with, you could be murdered or robbed!! :eek:0

hummm.... Ok. thanks for replies. I guess I won't do it then after all the discouragement. I wasn't trying to cash in on anyone's inconvenience. I, personally, would rather sleep in a bed than on the floor of an airport and all those people on the radio are all moaning about not having anywhere to sleep! I was actually looking for advice not judgement.MF date: Dec [STRIKE]2028[/STRIKE] 2019. Overpayments in 2007=£900, 2008=£1200 2009=234000

If you are referring to today, there are plenty of hotels in Manchester with availability for tonight.
People have given advice, not judgment.Gone ... or have I?0
