Expedia - hotel and flight booked together

Hi guys
Currently my gf and I are in NY and are due to fly home to Manchester tomorrow evening 10pm NY time. As it is looking likely that the ash will close manchester airport and cancel our flight. Will expedia cover the cost for the extra nights at our hotel? We also have insurance with flexi cover direct which was booked in feb 2010, are we covered through them also? We have no idea what to do?
