Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.action-smiley-033.gif

    Afternoon all,

I was green last week and I am going for £29 this week as I have £9 in my purse and £20 in my spends account. Hopefully this should be enough, only plans are bookgroup on Wednesday so the cost of a bottle of wine and then I am going out for dinner and to the cinema with a friend on Thursday hopefully can keep it cheap as I have a cinema card.

I have updated the first post with results and pledges from last week's thread, let me know if I have missed anything.

Spent nothing today, but got rather squiffy at a family do (free wine yay) so just having a sobering cuppa then an early night methinks.
    Have a great week

I have done my grocery shopping for the week, put £40 away for a birthday present (its my GS's 18th so aiming to give him £100) bringing that up to £60 saved from the weekly cash so far. I have £15. 61p left to last me the week.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.

Spends today have been £4.79 on yet more bl00dy hair dye (Dyed it yesterday, realised I missed some bits, bought more dye yesterday then spilled it over the bathroom floor, so third pack bought today ) and £1.25 on Ribena, which I'm sure used to be about 70p....I'm getting old I think :D

pointy - have you seen the thread about the Glasgow Meet? Also, pics of new hair will be going on FB once I can show the colour properly in the light!

Sounds like your adventures in hair dye are going well. Hope it turns out ok.

Thanks for letting me know about the meet I have signed up:D

I remember the days when chocolate bars were 25p and a carton of ribena was 30p, wow my grey hairs are really showing ;)
