Hi

Not sure where I stand on this one so thought I would ask some advice. We had a door to door salesman come around to try and get us to change tariffs. We politely declined but about 6 weeks later recieved a Final Bill from our supplier.

It took a while to track down who was our "new supplier" but once we did we called them and explained we had not changed. They said it was their mistake and everything would be recitfied. This was January 2010 (final bill date was Dec 2009)

We are now back to our old supplier (EDF) and they have sent us a bill through for our gas dated February 2010- May 2010- however they were not our gas suppliers for the period of December- February but have still charged us for gas in this period as they have used the meter reading that they took in December as the starting point for the new bill.

We know that the other company that made the mistake are not allowed to charge us but it seems odd that EDF can charge us for a service that at the time they were not supplying

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

Many Thank
:)

Your post is not clear. Were EDF not your original supplier?

Hmm, or are you suggesting that you were with EDF to Dec, slammed to ANother Jan to Mar, went back to EDF in Apr (approx) and are wanting to know if you can get away with not paying anything for your Jan to Mar bill whilst you were slammed? Nope, your original suppler is entitled to payment for the limbo period.

If it was treated as an "erroneous transfer" then surely you never left EDF??

An easier way, should this ever happen again, would be to speak with your "old supplier".

You can tell either supplier, but I would always recommend contacting the "old supplier" simply because they have everything to gain (retaining your custom)...not to mention you know who they are.

Who do you think you should pay for the gas you consumed?
You do expect to pay someone, don't you???
