Self Employed, Single How Do I Get Credit

New to this site, can anybody advise, i am a self employed and trying to get a credit card to use for transferring credit for a "whole life transfer". Seems i am rejected because of my employment status. Does anybody know of any cards who offer a good percentage who take on the self employed.
