Obstruction - parking ticket
Options
Got a parking ticket for 'Obstruction'.
Does anyone know what this means or how to question it?
Was parked half on the pavement in a quiet street (you know the kind where the pavement and road are the same only the pavement part is slightly raised, like a pedestrian street only it's not!) where it is the only option. Wasn't obstructing traffic from passing though, and room to walk past the other side too.
Any suggestions?

Was there room to get past in a wheelchair or with a double baby buggy? Pavements are built the width they are for a reason - even if the distinction between the two isn't a huge raised kerb.
Sorry if it's a bit harsh but you deserve the ticket. Roads are for cars, pavements are for people.

Yes, that's the answer. Even if there were no wheelchair users, blind people with guide dogs or pedestrians pushing prams, buggies etc - it is likely that those users of the pavement would have been impeded by the way the car was parked.

I would say the "obstuction" in this case was the obstruction of the pavement!
As Mike says "Roads are for cars, pavements are for people".Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
