    Thanks both!
  • Thanks to all - we went back to Goldsmiths who were very good about it, in the end we ended up swapping it altogether! This is my new one: http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/product.asp?cid=11&pid=14635

I also got the little plastic thingys from Claires. My fiance picked the perfect ring for me in the smallest size they sell and its still a bit big! Now that the warmer weather is here its not so much of a problem. Unfortunatley I can't have mine adjusted as its has a diamond on the inside of the band, so they'd have to order a whole new ring. Plus I only need it altering by half a size so I decided it wasn't worth it - I can where a plastic bit in the winter ;-)

Sometimes they put a small blob of gold on the inside of the band to make it smaller by a half size. Provided your ring isnt diamond set all the way around there should be space somewhere inside to do it, you only need a couple of mm space.
