:rotfl: Having struggled through bankruptcy, and then the complications of trying to sort my credit reference file, I am finally back on the straight and narrow.
One tip for you. I have finally managed to get a current account - a proper one, all singing and dancing, with proper debit card (not even Visa Electron), cheque book, e-banking, etc, etc. You do have to earn over a certain amount (minimum £1500 going into your account each month), but Citibank only did an address enquiry with the Credit Reference agencies, and gave me the full account. I do not know if this was because I specified that I did not want overdraft facilities, but having been turned down by all the usual High St suspects, it was so exciting to have my bank card turn up this morning....and I get a free IPOD nano within a couple of months!
I am not saying that Citibank offer the best facilities in the world - they do only have limited branches), but so far they have been helpful and courteous, and as I do not use a branch, their ebanking is adequate for my needs....and have given me an account. Perhaps something to try if you do have an adverse record?

What is the web address for Citibank, I have never heard of them, my credit rating is fine but it is good advice to anyone who needs it but they need to know where to find the bank. Where do they have branches? If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.
