How can I DE-CODE a FERGUSON VCR, please?

Bought from a car boot a vcr. It is a FERGUSON model FV61LV.

When set up the video player immediately requires a (4? number) code, fed in by the remote control. Without this code it is obviously useless. How does one over ride the code or set up another one,please?

have you tried the default of '0000', the link does tell you how to do it but you'd need a friendly sparky to do it for you.

Have you tried this:

Press main Menu button. Press & hold the "9" button in for 8 secs. The " Ferguson Security Mode" menu should then appear with on screen instructions. Enter new PIN number or press Erase 0000 button to deactivate; Press Memory.

MANY THANKS to WOO and ESPRESSO. I have tried your suggestions but, unfortunately, they have not worked. I just continue to get "Code ----" showing .

Hi

Try pressing the STOP button for about 10 seconds. This should flash the security message on the screen. Used to have an old Ferguson video which had this security option. You entered a 4 digit code which then allowed you to enter a 10 character message e.g. post code and door number. Pressing STOP for a few seconds would flash this message on the screen.

If this doesnt work you best start trying codes from 0000 to 9999. Thats 10,000 possible combinations. Good luck! Alternatively ask the guy you bought the video from.
