Was visiting B&Q yesterday and on impulse bought two grafted tomatoes: Elegance and Concaita. An acquaintance had mentioned them to me last year so I thought I'd give them a try.

From what I've already Googled it would seem that grafted plants are used extensively in the Tomato Growing Industry and that they produce a much stronger, healthier plant. By the looks of it they have just been released to the public over this past few years.

Plants were supplied by Suttons but costly at £3 plus. Still for a bit of an experiment I'm not complaining.

Anyway I thought I ask if anyone has tried grafted toms and what is their opinion? Were they worth the extra money? If you have tried them would you make any recommendations as regards care etc. This year I'll be growing three plants in an unheated greenhouse the two mentioned above and Moneymaker which I grew from seed.

But it does seem strange to graft what are really only annual plants
