Citroen 3yr manufacturers warranty - oil problems covered?
Options
Our Citroen picasso is 3yrs old in July but has developed a fault with the oil pump. The oil light has been beeping and when hubby took it to a local garage this morning they said that the oil is not pumping out. Should this be covered by the manufacturers warranty?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes, 100%.
Go tell them about it.0 -
Hope you have had it properly serviced?0

It has been serviced regularly by nationwide autocentres, book has been stamped. I read on here that it is fine to have it serviced at a non citroen garage that it should not affect warranty.0

The citroen dealership we purchased it from is no longer a citroen dealership, do we take it to the new citroen dealership or contact citroen direct first?
Thanks0 -

Don't believe everything you read on here
If i drove new or nearly new cars, (which i dont and never will), i wouldn't get them serviced at a chain...no way!
If fact i would never go to a chain for anything other than tyres.0 -
Great!
Hubby has contacted Citroen who are charging £95 just to look at it and will then decide whether its a problem covered by warranty!0 -
A bit about the warranty.
Whilst you can use a non dealer garage they must service it in line with requirements and using proper parts.
A block service from a chain is unlikely to always do this. If they find the fault is in a servicable part and it hasnt been done not a chance it will be covered, given oil filters etc are servicable if it isnt OEM parts you could find they refuse to do it.
Furthermore 3rd year warranties are often dealer backed insurance and not manufacturer so not always as wide ranging, also if you didnt own the car from new it doesnt always transfer.0 -
We have owned the car from new, will have to wait and see if its covered, looks like an outlay of a couple of hundred at least. Also garage have said car shouldn't be driven so no car for a week as the citroen dealership can't look at it until next Friday at the earliest.0

I can't understand people who pay £££ for a new car, then don't have it serviced by a proper garage during the warranty period.
I hope nationwide used a citroen branded oil filter0
