How to check if being 'bugged'?

A family I know were burgled a while ago (about 2 months). They are now concerned that they have been bugged as certain sensitive financial information appears to be getting 'out there'. Can anyone tell me how to check? Is there a gadget you can buy or do you need to get in the professionals? Thanks.:o ps it was a…

Honestly wouldn't bother running malwarebytes etc, go straight to the clean reformat and reinstall.

If he isn't going to keep the kids off the PC at least create separate user accounts, preferably with a drive or partition for the business stuff that is invisible to the kid's login. Minor nuisance to set up but absolutely no hassle going forward.
